Privacy policy
Effective and last updated September 30, 2026.
This policy explains how Seashore Transportation, Inc. ("Seashore", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit this website, contact us, use our transportation services, pay us, apply for a job, or receive calls, text messages or emails from us.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you contact us or request a proposal: your name, organization, role, email address, phone number and message. When you apply for a job: your contact details, license and endorsement status, work history and, with your authorization, the information needed for background and qualification checks the law requires for school bus drivers and aides. When you pay us online: billing contact details; you enter card or bank details directly with our payment processor (see section 5).
Rider and student information. To provide transportation, schools, districts, organizations and families give us information such as students' names, addresses, schools, pickup and drop-off locations and times, emergency contacts, and transportation needs such as the need for a bus aide.
Communications. Records of calls, text messages and emails with us, including when and how you agreed to receive text messages and any request to stop. If we record a call, we tell you at the start of the call. We use recordings to keep accurate records, check quality and train our team. Our communications provider stores recordings for us, and we keep them only as long as we need them. We do not keep payment card details in call recordings.
Vehicle data. Our buses are GPS-tracked. Vehicle location data is used to run and oversee our service.
Automatic website data. Our website host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time) for security and operations.
2. How we use information
- To respond to you, prepare proposals and provide our transportation services.
- To send service communications, such as trip details, schedule changes, service updates and billing notices.
- To process payments, keep accounting records and collect amounts owed.
- To recruit, hire and employ staff, including checks required by law.
- To keep riders, staff, our systems and the public safe, and to prevent fraud and misuse.
- To meet legal, regulatory, contractual and insurance obligations.
- To send marketing messages, only where the law allows and never after you opt out. We never add details you send through our contact form to marketing lists.
3. Text messages and calls
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we may text you about the service you use or requested, such as trip details, schedule changes, service updates, and billing and payment notices, and, if you applied for a job, updates on your application. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. To stop text messages, reply STOP to any text from us. You can also reply END, CANCEL, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE or OPTOUT, or tell us any other reasonable way, such as by calling (732) 222-6464 or emailing info@seashoretransit.com. We will send one text confirming your opt-out and then stop texting you; opting out stops all text messages from Seashore. Reply HELP for help. Agreeing to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase or of employment. Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.
We send text messages only to people who opted in with us or who texted us first. We do not text a number just because a school, district or organization gave it to us, and we do not share text-message consent with any other company, including companies related to us.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as customer service and message delivery, is permitted. All other categories of sharing described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We use a communications platform provider (such as Twilio) to place calls and deliver text messages. It processes numbers and message content on our behalf and under our instructions.
4. Email
We send service and transactional emails related to your request, contract, invoice or application. If we send marketing emails, each one includes a way to unsubscribe, and we honor opt-out requests promptly and in any case within ten business days. Opting out of marketing does not stop service or transactional messages.
5. Payments
Payments are handled by third-party payment processors. When you pay online, you enter card or bank details directly into the processor's secure payment form; they do not pass through or stay on our servers, and the processor protects card data under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). We never ask for payment card numbers by text message or email, so please do not send them that way. We keep transaction records, such as amount, date, payer and invoice, for accounting, tax and legal purposes.
6. Student information
Schools, districts and organizations give us student information so we can transport their students, and families sometimes share details with us directly. We treat it as confidential and use it only to plan and run that transportation, keep riders safe, and meet our contracts and the law. When it comes from a school or district, we follow that school's or district's directions on its use and safekeeping, and we do not disclose it to anyone else except as that school or district permits or the law requires, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) where it applies. The sharing described in section 7 applies to student information only within these limits. We never use student information for marketing, and we never sell it.
7. How we share information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only:
- With service providers that work for us under contract: website hosting and form processing, email, communications (calls and text messages), payment processing, IT and security, accounting, and background and qualification checks for applicants.
- With companies under common management with Seashore that provide shared administrative and IT services to us, such as email and collaboration systems, under written confidentiality obligations at least as protective as this policy and never for their own marketing. Student information is shared this way only as section 6 allows.
- With the schools, districts and organizations we serve, as needed to provide their transportation.
- With public authorities when the law requires it, or to protect the safety, rights or property of riders, staff, Seashore or others.
- With professional advisers, such as lawyers, accountants and insurers.
- As part of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, under confidentiality terms consistent with this policy.
8. Cookies and analytics
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies today, and it does not track you across other sites. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here and to meet contractual, legal, accounting, insurance and regulatory requirements, including record-keeping rules for school transportation and employment. Then we delete it or de-identify it.
11. Children
This website is meant for adults: school staff, parents and guardians, and job applicants. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. Student information we receive from schools, organizations or families is handled as described in section 6. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information through this website, call us at (732) 222-6464 and we will delete it.
12. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you by calling (732) 222-6464, emailing privacy@seashoretransit.com or writing to us at the address in section 14, and you can opt out of marketing at any time. Depending on where you live, and if the law applies to us (for example, the New Jersey Data Privacy Act), you may have additional rights. We will verify requests before acting on them and will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. Some information we must keep by law or contract.
We respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why within those 45 days and respond within 45 more. If we decline a request, we will tell you why and how to appeal: reply to our answer, and we will respond to your appeal within 45 days. If we deny an appeal, you may contact the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs.
13. Changes to this policy
We will post any change on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will give notice as the law requires.
